MRS. IDA B. COZAD FORMER RESIENT, DIES AT AMES
Mrs. Ida Bell Wise Cozad of Ames for 38 years a resident of this vicinity, died Sunday afternoon at her home in Ames following an operation five weeks before her death.
The body was brought here on Wednesday morning from Ames to the Methodist Church where funeral services were held at 1 p.m. conducted by Rev. L. B. Carpenter. The music was by H. H. NOrdyke, Roy B. Means, Mrs. Harry Tyler, and Mrs. Cy Underwood, accompanied by Miss Helen Bunker. The pall bearers were George Erickson and Lou Smith, Villisca, Oka V. Wise, Ames, Bert Cozad, Orient, R. M. Cozad, Grant, and Frank Cozad, Illinois; and burial was in the Grant Cemetery.
Mrs. Cozad, 66, daughter of Johnathan and Sara Rake Wise, who lived here until she moved with her family in 1928 to Ames, was born September 8, 1871 in Page County, Iowa, near Villisca and was married on December 25, 1904 to Charles Walter Cozad, who preceded her in death.
She leaves her daughter, Mrs. H. A. Arthur, Ames; a step daughter, Mrs. H. L. Mercer, Pueblo, Colorado; a sister and two brothers, Mrs. J. H. Scott, W. D. Wise, and O. V. Wise, Ames and a grandson, Phillip Arthur. One son Benjamin J., died when a small child. Mrs. Cozad was a member of the Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
