Mrs. Anna Roemer, 84, widow of Jacob Roemer, pioneer Manitowoc hardware merchant, died Saturday evening at the home of her son-in-law, James Nachtwey, North Fond du Lac.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Church of the Presentation of the BVM, North Fond du Lac. The (not readable) ..brieter of Mukwonago. Weather permitting, the body will be brought to Manitowoc Tuesday noon for interment in Calvary cemetery. The body may be viewed at the Frazier mortuary at noon Tuesday before funeral rites at Calvary cemetery.
Mrs. Roemer, nee Anna Hessel, was born at Francis Creek in 1853. She was first married to Edward Kirscher. He died in 1882. In 1889, she was married to Jacob Roemer who was a member of the hardware firm of Rand & Roemer. Mr. Roemer died in 1902. In 1914 Mrs. Roemer left for North Fond du Lac to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Olive Nachtwey, who died last spring.
Survivors are a son, Edward Kirscher, city; three step-children, Mrs. William Kappes, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Joseph Kuchera, Wausau, Wis., and Richard Roemer, Alameda, Calif.; one brother, Frank Hessel, Francis Creek, 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
