ALBERT (AL.) AUSTIN

Albert C. Austin, age 84, of 1516 Jasmine Drive, Manitowoc, died on Thursday
morning, Jan. 8, 2009, at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center,
Manitowoc.
Albert was born on Jan. 19, 1924, in Atlanta, Mich., son of the late George
and Tressa (Harvey) Austin. Albert served in the U.S. Army during World War
II in the South Pacific. He married the former Victoria Cernat on June 14,
1948, at Hubbard Lake, Mich. She preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2003.
Albert worked for General Motors Buick Division in Flint, Mich., for 43
years, moving from Flushing, Mich., to Manitowoc in 1985. He enjoyed hunting
and fishing, and was active in the past with the Great Lakes Sports Fishermen
Salmon Raising Pond.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Victoria; and two brothers-
in-law: Walt Van Wormer and Jack Nichols.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at the
Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State St., Manitowoc. Pastor Rick
Hines will officiate, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery with military
rites accorded by American Legion Drews-Bleser Post 88 of Manitowoc.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at the funeral home
from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
