Ruth E. Cox, 88, Marion, died Friday, October 4, 2013 in her residence. She was born in Marion, Indiana to the late Claude and Dottie (Babb) Carmichael. She married Raymond L. Cox, Jr. on June 30, 1946. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1996.

She formerly worked at Marion Malleable IronWorks from 1946-1950, Bernacchi Fruit & Vegetable 1972-1980, Foster Forbes and her father's grocery. Ruth was a member of the 8th Street Wesleyan Methodist Church. She was a sports fan and liked to sew. Ruth sang and played guitar with her sisters, Annie and Marguerite.

Funeral Service: at 10:00 am Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN with Rev. Dan Van Cise, Rev. Herb Mohler and Rev. Ben Gray officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion.

Visitation: will be from 4-8 pm, Monday, October 7, 2013 at the funeral home.
