Ardis Mae Hill, 74, of Bemidji, died on Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at home. A funeral was at Calvary Lutheran Church in Bemidji. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.

She was born on July 26, 1932, to Oliver and Hilma (Johnson) Westrum in Clearbrook. She was born and raised on a farm in Clearbrook. As a young girl, she moved to Bemidji, where she worked at various jobs as a waitress. In 1957, she met Donald "Pail" Hill, whom she later married. They lived in Bemidji for more than 50 years. They owned and operated Heidi's Café until her retirement.
She loved her crocheting, needlework and crafts. She enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren in Bemidji. She was a charter member of the Eagles Aerie No. 351.

She is survived by her husband; son, Virgil (Betty) Johnson of Bemidji; daughters, Jackie (Tim) Welch of Tenstrike, Wanda (John) Baumgartner of Bemidji and Colleen (Roger) Kjos of Bemidji; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Art Westrum of Bemidji and David "Buddy" Westrum of Bemidji; and sister, Brenda (Larry) Strowbridge of Bemidji.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patty Tischman; brothers, Harvey and Clayton Westrum; and sisters, Viola Nyland, Doris Sukert and Lyla Eichstadt.
