Patricia Rae Meyer, 69, of Mount Vernon, went home to be with the Lord on October 3, 2013 following a courageous, lengthy battle with kidney disease.
She was born in Mount Vernon on November 25, 1943 to Albert and Lorraine Wardenaar. Pat graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1962 and wed Tom Meyer on November 18, 1967 in Mount Vernon.
She held a variety of positions in business, including 29 years with GTE/Verizon. She loved gardening, music, and crafts, and was an avid fan of the Seattle Seahawks.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tom; children Kimberly (Wade) Evans of Seattle, Brian (Belen) Meyer of Everett, Scott Meyer of Mount Vernon; grandchildren Christopher Herlickson of Mount Vernon, Ashleigh Herlickson of Burlington, Chase Darden of Arlington and siblings Lori Wardenaar of Stamford, CT, Dave (Angelique) Wardenaar of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Les (Suzanne) Wardenaar of Portland, OR.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert, her mother Lorraine, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the First United Methodist Church Saturday, October 12 @ 1:30pm. With a reception immediately following at the church. Pastor Dan T. Breznau presiding. Potluck to follow after service at 1823 So. 16th Street, Mount Vernon.
In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts can be made at Skagit State Bank to assist with funeral and burial costs, Galen T. Meyer Donation Account for Patricia R. Meyer.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Hospice of the Northwest for their care, compassion and help during the final weeks of Pat's life.
