Lucy Bell Mathis Gadberry was the daughter of John M. "Jack" Mathis and Vera Mae Matheny. She was born 13 Feb 1910 in Mississippi County, Arkansas, about one mile out of Blytheville, according to her birth certificate. She married Cleatis Cates Gadberry on 17 Nov 1923 in Monette, Craighead County, Arkansas.

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. Funeral services for Lucy Gadberry Richart, 91, of Poplar Bluff, formerly of Ravenden Springs, who died Thursday, Sept. 20, at Three Rivers Health Care in Poplar Bluff, will be at 2 p.m. today at Ravenden Baptist Church, with the Rev. Pat Hovis officiating. Burial will follow in Dail Cemetery in Ravenden under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

During World War II, she worked at a defense plant and was a cook at St. Bernard's Hospital and at Arkansas State University. She worked in the garment industry for many years and was a member of Ravenden Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Gene Wilson of Foley, Mo., Evelyn Martin of Ravenden and Louise Miller of Potosi, Mo.; three sons, Ray Gadberry of Sylvia, Mo., Loyd Gadberry of Imboden and Dallas Gadberry of Yuma, Ariz.; 23 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Cletus Gadberry and Raymond Richart.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
