Synneva Sampsonsdatter Ese was the youngest of six children born to Anna Kristensdatter Fjaerestad and husband Per Knutson Ese. Synneva emigrated out of Norway with her parents, in April 1860 according to parish records.

Synneva, her husband, her parents and many other relatives are also buried at S. Zumbro Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Synneva was my g.grandmother Sitona Fjerstad's first cousin. They were close to the same age, and emigrated as adolescents with their parents, about the same time from Norway to Wisconsin and later both moved to Dodge County, MN with their families. Synneva's mother Anna and my g.g.grandfather Peder K. Fjerestad were siblings.

Synnove married Sampson Berge October 4, 1861. They had eight children, and farmed in Dodge County, MN. Their children, Andrew, Anna and Jensine all have living offspring, many still living (2014) in Dodge County, MN, including Grovdahl, Aaby, Carlson, Berge and others.
