Jennings: The family and friends of Lorrine Ann Dupuis Simon are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on October 3, 2013 while in the comfort of her home.

A mass of Christian burial will be held to celebrate her life at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Jennings, LA on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Lorrine will be laid to eternal rest in Calvary Cemetery. Father Charles McMillin will officiate.

Lorrine Ann was a lifelong resident of Jennings and born to the late Able Dupuis and the late Gladys Blanchard Dupuis on May 13, 1942. She worked as a bookkeeper until her retirement. Mrs. Lorrine was a member of the Raymond Rosary Group. She enjoyed painting, cooking, traveling, and eating out with her friends. She was a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by all who where blessed to have known her.

Mrs. Lorrine is survived by her son, James Earl Simon and his wife Shelia of Jennings; one daughter, Pamela Simon Ward and her husband Richard C. of Vicksburg, MS; her three grandchildren, Nicole L. Vera (fiancé Dave Delgado), Jerrett Simon (Rachel), and Jade Simon (Sarah); and her four great grandchildren, Blaise Vera, Alyssa Simon, McKenzie Simon, and Baili Meaux.

Mrs. Lorrine now rests in Heaven with her beloved family who preceded her in death: her parents, Able and Gladys Dupuis; her husband, Earl Henry Simon "Shing"; and one sister, Delores Ardoin.

Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Sunday, October 6th from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary recited by the Raymond Rosary Group at 6:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Monday at 10:00 AM until the time of her funeral mass at 2:00 PM.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerrett Simon, Jade Simon, Blaise Vera, Dwain Ardoin, Craig Ardoin, and Dave Delgado. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Deshotel.
