OLAF O. BAKKUM
Olaf O. Bakkum, 76, died Tuesday morning at the home of his son Clifford, 343 South 22nd street, after an illness of several months. He was born in Birrie, Norway, Jan. 10, 1870. He came to La Crosses at the age of 17 years, living here since. He was married Nav. 24, 1892 to Ellen Anna Nonstad, who died eight years ago.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Hale, Mrs. Arnold (Olga) Steen and Mrs. Howard (Ruth) Marshall; six sons Clifford, Norman, Russell and Arthur, all of La Crosse, Kenneth of Munising, Mich., and Harvey of Rockford. ILL.; 22 grandchildren; two-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Andrew, of La Crosse.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Clifford Bakkum residence and at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church, the Rev. Ivar M. Gjellstad officiating. Buriel will be at Oak Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the Nelson Funeral home Thursday evening.
