Mrs. Frank Schmelzle, 80, R. 6, Sturgeon Bay, died Monday morning at Algoma Memorial hospital of complications. She had been in ill health for a number of years. She was the former Dora Schlise and was born July 18, 1887 in the town of Forestville. She married Frank Schmelzle at Maplewood Oct. 19, 1915 and the couple farmed near Maplewood until 1960 when they retired but continued to live on the farm. She was a member of Holy Name of Mary Altar Society. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Stanton (Doris) Soukup, Algoma one son, Lloyd Schmelzle, Forestville; two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. George Schmelzer, Sturgeon Bay, five brothers, Henry, Mark and Joseph Schlise of Forestville, Andrew Schlise, Little Sturgeon, and Walter Schlise, New London. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, her parents and one brother.
