Deborah J. "Debbie" Paligo, 59, a resident of Bennington, VT died Wednesday October 2, 2013 at the Southwestern VT Medical Center following a long battle with cancer.

Arrangements are pending at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.A complete obituary will appear in Saturdays paper.

Deborah J. "Debbie" Paligo, 59, a resident of Bennington, VT died Thursday October 3, 2013 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long battle with cancer She was born in North Adams, MA March 5, 1954. She was the daughter of Anthony D. "Tony" and Rose M. (Richardson) Garrison.

Debbie relocated to Bennington and met and married Gordon R. "Gordie" Paligo on July 1, 1995 Debbie had been employed at the former Tansitor Electronics now called Vishay for over 40 years. She started in Production and advanced to Process Engineer. Debbie also worked part time at Woolworth's and the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Some of her fondest memories were spending time in the valleys and mountains of Petersburg, New York, flying with her dad in his two seater airplane from the runway of their home along the lakes and rivers. Spending time with her mom was a total enjoyment. She also enjoyed watching her mother knit and crocheting. Debbie and her parents were animal lovers.

Debbie is survived by her husband Gordie Paligo of Bennington; Her sweetist and kindest mother Rose Garrison and her dear mother in law Caroline Paligo both of Bennington; Her brothers, Bruce, David and Timmy all of Troy, New York; a step son Richard "Rick" Paligo and his wife Jessie of Arlington, VT. Two grandchildren, MacKenzie and Hunter Paligo of Arlington, her sister in laws and their spouses, Gloria Pratt, Kathy Mosher (Martin), Susanna Davis (Billy) all of Bennington, Anna O'Neil (Mike) of North Adams, MA and Fred Paligo (Laurie) of Maryland. An aunt, Edna Richardson of Hancock, MA and many very special best friends and you know who you are, along with many cousins and their spouses and children of N.Y., N.H. and MA. She was pre-deceased by a brother Wayne Garrison

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be private and held at the Second Congregational Church of Williamstown MA at the convenience of the family. The burial will follow the service at the family lot in Hancock, MA. Debbie will be laid to rest next to her father.
