Descendent of Charles Glidden who immigrated from England between 1659 and 1661. David's parents were John Glidden and Ann Schrivener, and he had 9 brothers and sisters. David and his wife Sarah True moved to Maine for a time and then to New York. David served three times in the Revolutionary Service and in two states: New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is buried in a cemetery set apart for veterans of the Revolutionary War.
Sarah, David's wife, is the daughter of Joseph True, also a revolutionary soldier, and a prominent name in histories of Hampton Falls, MA. Her mother, Sarah Prescott, is the daughter of Joshua Prescott who served on town committees etc. with Joseph True. Joshua is also a revolutionary patriot.
