Barbara Jean Garrett, 81, of Bristow, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013. She was born March 18, 1932 in Morgantown, WV.
She was an employee with over 25 years of proud service for The Central Intelligence Agency and seven years for the Department of State and enjoyed family gatherings, travel and cruises, ping pong with friends, and loved to ice skate.
Preceded in death by husband of 34 years, Samuel H. Garrett and eldest daughter, Deborah Anne Ridgeway.
Survivors include brother, John D'Agostino and wife Sheila; son, Bruce T. Garrett, and wife Alice; daughter, Gail Garrett Cornish and husband Timothy; granddaughters, Gwendolyn Ridgeway, Michelle Garrett, Olivia Cornish and great-granchildren JoAnna and Jolie.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 4, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA 20110, immediately followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Morrisville United Methodist Church Cemetery, Bealeton, VA.
