Helen Marie Fetters, 80, of Cuero, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003. She was born on October 26, 1923, in Thomaston to the late Helen (Wolter) Pridgen and Oscar Wiley Pridgen. One of the great loves of her life was the game of golf which she participated in for many years, having won many trophies.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Brenda Shoe of Waxhaw, North Carolina; son, Marion G. Fetters Jr. of Cuero; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Elaine Barron and Gloria Rice, both of Cuero, and Patty Morgan of San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion G. Fetters Sr.; son, Gregory Lee Fetters; sisters, Anne Lee Pridgen and Phyllis Frank; and brother, William Wiley Pridgen.

Services were Wednesday, Nov. 26 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Burial was at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero under the direction of Freund Funeral Home, 361-275-2343.

Pallbearers: Mike Barron, Mike Boose, Ray Coronado, Jim Elmore, Bob Farris, and Gregory Fetters.
