Tolmon Clarence Robbins, aged 67, died in Memorial Hospital Tuesday at 3:50 p.m. His death was unexpected.
Born March 5, 1900 in Brunswick County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Isaac Tolmon Robbins and Mrs. Margaret Harrelson Robbins.
He was educated in the public schools and Wake Forest College. He had been a resident of Danville for the past ten years and was an active member of the First Baptist Church having served on the Board of Deacons. He was also a member of the Life Underwriter Association.
Mr. Robbins operated a grocery business in High Point, North Carolina for 10 years and later became associated with the Life Insurance Company of Virginia. He retired as district manager December 30, 1964.
On August 19, 1919, he was married to Ruth Malpass of Currie, N. C.
Besides his wife, of Danville, he is survived by one son and two daughters, W. G. Robbins of Raleigh, North Carolina; Mrs. Edward E. Storm, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mrs. Clarence A. Rogers of Bergen, New York and seven grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, L. F. Robbins of High Point, North Carolina.
Funeral services will he held Thursday at 2 p.m., from the Townes Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The body is at Townes Funeral Home and the family will be at the residence, 236 Grove Park Circle.
