JOSEPHINE VAN HEEST OBITUARY
HEEST Josephine (DeJongh) Van Heest, born February 16, 1923 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 18, 2005 at Hospice of Holland. Jo, as her family and friends knew her, is survived by her husband of 59 years, the Rev. Jack Van Heest; one son, David Van Heest and his partner Doug Abell; daughters, Sharron and Tony Santefort, Marianne and Joel Bouwens, Nancy and Michael VandenBerg, and Dr. Jaci Van Heest. She was grandmother to seven grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Mildred Tuinstra, Sadie and Dale Rider, Ruth and Roger Bremer; brothers, Jay and Joanne DeJongh, Neil and Linda DeJongh; her brothers-in-law, William and Helen Van Heest, Marvin Van Heest; sisters-in-law, Bea and Arthur Van Eck, Helene Noordyk, Joanne Foster. Jo was devoted to her family and church and was her husband's partner in pastoring congregations, including Fellowship Reformed Church of Hudsonville, which they started together. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Reformed Church. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 20 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at church.
