Age 91, West Plains - Funeral services were held 2 p.m., today, Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, White Church, Mo., under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Hays died 2 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, in Brooke Haven HealthCare. She was born Aug. 13, 1917, in Howell County, Mo., to Fred and Bertha Kenaga Wenz. On Aug. 2, 1940, she was married at St. Louis, Mo., to Leavitt Thomas Hays, who preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1998. Mrs. Hays liked to quilt and crochet and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She is survived by three children, Jacob Hays, wife, Pat, Pomona, Mo., Mary Hays, husband, Joe Levanowicz, Liberty, Tenn., and Martha Henderson and special friend, Dennis Mahan, West Plains; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, two sons, John Douglas Hays and Thomas Hays, one brother and one sister precede her in death. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Cemetery and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
