Doris Mae Norris "Granny" 78, of St. Petersburg, went to join the Lord Saturday, September 28, 2013, at home.
Born in Bradenton, Florida, she came here in 1958. After retiring she moved to Levy County where she resided for 20 years before coming back to St. Petersburg in June 2012. She graduated from Manatee County High School in 1953.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, Morriston Baptist Church and Starkey Road Baptist Church. For over 50 years she worked in the Nursery at First Baptist Church and Morriston Baptist Church. She also cooked the Wednesday night meals in her churches for many years. She was an avid fan of Florida State Football.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10am on Saturday, Oct. 5th at Fortner Cemetery in Parrish, FL
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Nursery at Morriston Baptist Church, 3141 South Highway 41, Morriston, FL 32668.
