Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. E. B. Slaughter, Mrs. E. W. Bowles, and Mrs. L. N. Copes, all of Monroe; two sons, Earl A. Hammett of Texas, Clyde A. Hammett of West Monroe; four brothers, James H. Hammett, of Winnsboro, Newton R. Hammett of Dodson, Ed F. Hammett of Oak Grove, and Lee Hammett of California; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
