For almost 16 years Anthony "Toad" has made this world his own. He was born July 7, 1989; he left us on May 30, 2005, after suffering from a rare disease since birth called "Larsen syndrome," a connective tissue disorder. He died at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City where he received three operations in the last two weeks. The pain and suffering became too intense and just too much for his body to bear. Anthony asked his mother if he could go home and she told him she couldn't take him yet. Anthony then told her that he meant that he wanted to go be with his dad who died eight years earlier. At his bedside when he passed was his mother Julie, stepfather Stephen, his sister Jessyka and two stepbrothers, Marshall and Jameson, and his brother Benjiman, who is serving full time in the Philippines-Cebu LDS mission, was on the phone. Anthony loved to play Yugioh along with his sister and friends and had won many prizes. Anthony loved playing cards and was a great chess player. He was a good student and received an "Outstanding Academic Achievement Award" from President Bush. When he graduated from Fairmont Junior High he was honored with the "Most Inspirational Student Award" which has been named after him. From now on each year at Fairmont Junior High, one student will receive the Anthony Hardman Most Inspirational Student Award. Anthony was the president of the Young Men's Quorum at the Victory View LDS Ward before moving into his new home. Anthony was a great advocate for people with needs and strongly believed in fairness for all. Anthony definitely made the world brighter with his presence. He has returned home to make it brighter there, leaving behind sadness at his passing but joy and happiness with his memory and spirit. He truly endured to the end. All who met Anthony knew immediately that he was someone special. He was never afraid of approaching people and would talk to everyone. Anthony could brighten any situation with his wit and humor. His ability to make us smile in spite of ourselves and our circumstances will be sadly missed. His amazing independence was remarkable even to his doctors. Anthony is survived by his mother Julie Hardman, stepfather Stephen Hardman, brother Benjiman Hardman, sister Jessyka Hardman, stepbrothers Marshall and Jameson, half-sister Lindsay Voelkel, grandparents Jack and Sally Dake of Boise, Jules and Sue Carracci of Heber Springs, Ark. and Norman and Dixie Hardman of Letha, Idaho. Anthony also left behind his beloved dog Annybell, best friends Michael Whiteley and Joey Rundlett, and many other friends, teachers, caregivers and loved ones. Anthony was preceded in death by his father Gale Lynn Hardman. A public viewing will be held Sunday, June 5, 2005 at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with family receiving visitors from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Downtown LDS Church at 1001 E 2nd St. in Emmett on Monday, June 6, 2005 at 2:00 p.m., followed by interment at the Bramwell Cemetery in Emmett. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Anthony Hardman Memorial fund at Zion's bank, 7402 Fairview Ave., Boise, Idaho 83704.
