CHERRYVALE - Wayne L. Gregory, 87, of rural Cherryvale, a lifelong dairyman and rancher, died at 3:52 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, at his home. He had been in failing health. He was born Sept. 2, 1918, in Dewey, Okla., to Loren S. and Bertha L. (Palmer) Gregory. He grew up and attended schools in the Bartlesville and Dewey, Okla., areas. He graduated from Dewey High School. He married Gladys J. Medford on Sept. 2, 1937, in Dewey. In 1946, they moved to their current home near Cherryvale, where they had a dairy operation for more than 25 years. Later they also farmed and raised livestock. She preceded him in death on June 2, 1995. Survivors include three sons, Larry Gregory and his wife, Nancy, of McPherson, Lynn Gregory and his wife, Anne, of Edna and Loren Gregory and his wife, Ruthanne, of Meeker, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons with the Rev. Fred Wooldridge officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, 405 Main, Parsons.
