Ms. Ouita was born on July 8, 1921 in Lincoln Parish at Dubach to Byron and Annie Pearl Puckett. She entered into rest on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the home of Peggy Monk following a fairly lengthy illness due to strokes. She was a stay at home mother of five children for most of her married life except for the eight years she worked at Bernice Manufacturing after her children were grown. She loved to travel and made many bus tours across the United States and two trips to Israel. She loved her church and was a member of Sharon Baptist Church for over 70 years. She was a happy and pleasant lady, an excellent mother, and wife who put her family and their needs ahead of her own.
Ms. Odom was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lester Odom, her brother, Fay Arnold Puckett, her brother-in-law, Mike Knight and son-in-law, Charles Monk. She is survived by her sisters, Nanette Knight of Homer, LA and Yvonne Fitts of El Dorado, AR; three sons, Tom Odom and wife, Diane of Bernice, LA, Jimmy Odom and wife Ann of Homer, LA and Donny Odom and wife, Pam of Bernice, LA; two daughters, Peggy Monk of Bernice, LA and Virginia Moon and husband, Lee of Farmerville, LA; twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Eddy Monk, D.J. Odom and Sonny Moon, grandsons-in-law, Aaron Boyett and Wes Bowen, and great-grandson, Evan Hodge.
