Doris Sanborn, daughter of Floy Roszell and Burtis Walton, was born February 26, 1905 in Wayne, KS., and died February 3, 1995 at the Olive T. Jones Health Center, Aldersgate Village, Topeka, KS., at the age of 89 years.
She attended grade school in Wayne and high school at Agenda, KS. She attended beauty school and the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
She was united in marriage to Luther N. Bouska on June 6, 1923 at Wayne, KS., and to this union four children were born; James, Dolores, Donald and Janet.
She and her husband owned and operated the North Central Kansas Insurance and Real Estate Agency in Belleville from 1945 until his death in 1951. She continued to operate the agency until 1964.
She was one of the first women to be licensed as a life insurance agent in the state of Kansas.
She married Theodore A. Sanborn in 1957 and they moved to Topeka in 1968. He died in 1991.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Belleville and the First Presbyterian Church in Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Luther and Ted; her son, Donald Bouska; sister, Betty Nelson; three brothers, Clare, Bertrand and Lyle Walton, and one grandson.
She is survived by her children, James, Dolores and Janet, step children, Linda and Kent; brother, Bryon Walton, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren.
Services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Belleville, with Suzanne Lane officiating. Burial was in Belleville Cemetery.
