Eldon Dillenburg, 85, of Mount Ayr, formerly of Benton, died May 22, 2008, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.
Eldon Dillenburg, son of Harriet M. (Evans) and Peter G. Dillenburg, was born Oct. 7, 1922, in Benton. He graduated from Benton High School in 1940.
On Aug. 25, 1945, Eldon married Retha L. May in Creston.
Eldon was a farmer and worked at Dugan's Conoco in Mount Ayr. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church.
Eldon is survived by his wife Retha Dillenburg of Mount Ayr; children, Eugene (wife Judy) Dillenburg and Faye (husband Bill) Stull, all of Mount Ayr; sister Jean Bauer of Orient; brother-in-law John (wife Carol) May of Mount Ayr; sisters-in-law, Bonnie (husband Gerald) Summa of Mount Ayr and Pearl May of Tingley; grandchildren, Daniel Stull, ReNell and Amy Roybal, Lisa Saxton and Teresa Huffman; nine great-grandchildren, Ciprianna, Alena and Laura Roybal, Brandon and Aaron Saxton and Mackenize, Levi, KC and Noah Huffman.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law and brothers-in-law, Calvin Bauer and Carl May.
