Elias Shadle, 66, of Hegins Twp., who died last Sunday morning (1 Sep 1940) after a brief illness, was buried on Wednesday 4 Sep 1940 at Weishample.
A retired farmer, he was the husband of Ida S. Boyer. He is the father of Mrs. Melvin Mervine of Tremont. Other surviving children are Gurney Shadle, Orwigsburg; Miss Iva Shadle, Mrs. Lloyd Miller; Herman and Raymond Shadle; Mrs. Irvin Ossman, Hegins; Mrs. Elias Gahres, Jonestown. Thirty two grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
