Funeral services for Lee L. Wood Sr. were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2002 in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lindsey Burns officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memories, Winnfield under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.
Mr. Wood, age 86 of Winnfield, LA died Sunday, November 3, 2002 in the Winn Parish Medical Center.
He was a Winnfield native, member of First Baptist Church, retired from City of Winnfield and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in World War II.
Survivors are his wife, Juanita Graham Wood of Winnfield, LA; two sons, Lee L. Wood Jr. of Burkburnett, TX and Wayne Wood of McKinney, TX; one brother, Sanford Wood of St. Joseph, LA; six grandchildren: Jeremy, Leondra, Liza, Graham, Ben and Bryan Wood; and four great grand-children: Zachary, Taylor, Branton and Lorrie.
Pallbearers were: Jeremy Wood, Graham Wood, Leonard Wood, James Thornton, John Thornton, Kenneth Peavy, Bryan Wood and Ben Wood.
