Obituary -

John Boyd Kratzer, 85, of Ottumwa died Wednesday night at the Lutheran Home in Muscatine. He was born April 12, 1903 in Lancaster, Mo., to John and Bertha Hill Kratzer. Her married Inez Lock Haught on October 7, 1953 in Chicago, Ill., and she preceded in him death on April 21, 1975. He was raised in Centerville. He retired from Meadow-Gold Dairy after 30 years of service.

He was a member of the First Christian
Church, Ottumwa, Masonic Lodge 16, and the Teamsters Union.

Survivors are three step daughters, Willadean Danay of Muscatine. Norma Staats of San Antonio, Texas, and Diana DeMoss of Houston, Texas; one step son, Lorrin Haught of Iowa City; 13 step grandchildren; 11 step great­ grandchildren; one brother, Wallace Kratzer of Des Moines; one sister, Wilma Powell of Centerville.

Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church, Ottumwa, with the Rev. Richard Goins' officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Family will be at the Robertson J. Funeral Home 10 - 11:30 a.m., Saturday. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Ottumwa.
