Mary Anna Abbott, 89, Sparta, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2000 in Ozark Nursing and Care Center, Ozark. She was born August 24, 1910 in Sparta, the daughter of Marion and Grace Shipman Abbott.

Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Highlandville.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two daughters, Kathryn Stutesmun and Josephine Barnett; a sister, Esta Moore; a half sister, Treva Bloomer; and a half brother, Harley Reed.

Survivors include: a sister, Cynthia Abbott, Ozark; two daughters, Betty Braden, Springfield and Wyona Shortt, Stockton, CA; two half sisters, Irene Maggard, Sacramento, CA and Jewell Anderson, Springfield; a half brother, Charley Reed, Ozark; twelve grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 2, 2000 in Bruner Cemetery. Bruner, Missouri with Charles "Chuck" Eakins officiating. Visitation was from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2000 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
