Son of Fred C. & Mabel (Morris) Howard; brother of Freddie Wayne "Wayne" Howard. Verner's father passed away when Verner 9 years old. Verner was raised by his mother & his older brother, Freddie "Wayne", in Laverne, OK.

Verner contracted polio at an early age; he graduated from Laverne High School & later the OSU Technical School in Okmulgee, OK. Verner was always interested in electronics & for several years worked for Dorsett, Inc. Later, he started his own business marketing firm "VMH Marketing, Inc.".

Verner was active & had his van especially equipped to meet his driving & transportation-related mobility needs; he drove from his wheel chair.

Verner was preceded in death by his father, Fred, his mother, Mabel, & his brother, Freddie Wayne.

Funeral services were held for Verner in the Alameda Baptist Church in Norman, OK at 10:00 am on September 19; at 4:00 pm on the afternoon of September 19, 2005. Verner was buried beside his parents in the Kiowa Cemetery.

Verner was a good man.
