"Bob" was the oldest son of Francis W. and Lulu D. (Casler) Garry. Served in the U.S. Army at Guadalcanal during WWII, and recalled for the Korean War with the 43rd Division. After the war he served on the Hartford Police Department and retired, then security for Hartford Hospital and retired.
He married Angeline Carmello Pardo, January 3, 1942, less than a month after the attack on Pearl Harbor, just before he shipped out to the Pacfic Theater. They would later have four children: Robert Jr., Luellen, Sharon, and Donna.
