William Edward Kennedy, 78, died at 8:40 PM Saturday, Dec. 22, 1979, at Lafayette Home Hospital, where he had been a patient since Oct. 31. A native and life resident of Lafayette, he married Mary Emeline Roll in 1924. Mr. Kennedy had been employed at Schwab Safe Company for 50 years, retiring in 1974. He was a 50-year member of Eagles Lodge 364.

Surviving are two daughters, Pat (Mrs. Frank) Swindle and Dolores (Mrs. Clifford) Thayer, both of Lafayette; a son, William "Max" Kennedy of Chatham, IL; two sisters, Mary (Mrs. Ray) Dexter and Edith (Mrs. Bud) Engledow, both of Lafayette; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, two sisters and one brother. Service Dec. 24, Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, the Rev. Worth Pearson officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
