PARENTS: Pete (as he was nicknamed) was born in Keystone, Indian Territory to Sherman & Martha Jane (Garoutte) Ackley. He is buried near them and his grandparents, Samuel & Sarah (Rush) Ackley.

On October 4, 1924 he married Alice Marie Besser in Tulsa, OK. Sadly, she died in childbirth in 1930. They had three sons: William Sherman Ackley, Jack Lindberg Ackley, and Thomas Albert Ackley.
