Nicholas "Nick" died in an accident at the Mickle Mine in Elko County. He graduated from Mullan, Idaho High School in 1990. He had been employed as a truck driver at Barrick Goldstrike Mines. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Fred and Mary Barney of Kellogg, Idaho; mother, Connie Barney of Pinehurst; maternal grandmother, Doris Flathers, Mullan; brother, Bill Barney of Pinehurst; sisters, Bess Hardie of Wallace and Ronda Ahlin and Lori Myles of Elko; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Helen Barney and maternal grandfather, Floyd Flathers.
