Phyllis married Hal Lloyd Weakly on March 2, 1954 at Victoria, Texas. Early in her marriage to Hal, they moved several times because of Hal's career in radio and television. Their children were all born in different states with the exception of the last two.
Phyllis, in her younger years, enjoyed playing tennis and was a district champion in Texas. During her adult years, she continued to play tennis and her children will tell you they rarely could equal her skills. If any athletic event was on television, you would find her watching it.
Phyllis was a master of many talents, including crocheting, knitting, embroidery, quilting, painting, and refinishing antique trunks and furniture. She enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards and games, and spending time with her family and friends.
Phyllis was a member of Save Boyd County and was also affectionately known as "Momma Nuke".
