Son of Claude Ruddick and 2nd wife, Lillie Cline Ruddick Crismon. Raised by Grandparents, John T. and Vina Rogers Ruddick and his Aunt Mollie Cline Ruddick of Garfield, Ark. When his father, Claude died in 1916, Lillie remarried James Crismon and had six more children; Una Crismon Childers; Lindy Crismon Barksdale; James; Roy; Carl; and Bonnie Crismon King. Troy started painting and drawing as a young boy while in the Mercy Children's Hospital at Kansas City. He was listed in "Who's Who" for American Artists for contemporary art for his exhibits in the 1939 World's Fair in New York. He taught art for many years in San Anselmo, Ca., 11 miles north of San Francisco, CA
