TRINITY — Mr. Erman Eugene Black, 76, a resident of Tabernacle Church Road, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the Hospice Home at High Point. He was born on April 27, 1937, in Randolph County to James Lee Black and Nannie Alma Briles Black. He retired from Dixie Container and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where he was very active with the church especially during his younger years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fallie Lou Hooks Black on May 23, 1983, whom he married January 29, 1955; sister, Kathleen Mabe; brother, James Black; and two grandsons, Donnie Nance and Steve Deatherage.
Surviving are two daughters, Debbie Coleman and husband Robert of the home, and Teresa Nance and husband Billy of Lexington; one grandson, Ricky Nance of Polkton, NC; and one great-granddaughter, Skylar Nance.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Myra Ward-Brown and Rev. Craig O'Hara officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Black will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and at other times at the home. Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
