BANGS-Graveside services for Vellon Wallace, 78, of Bastrop were held at 1 p.m . Wednesday, September 18 at Bangs Cemetery. Davis-Myrris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wallace died Monday morning at Bastrop. He was born September 8, 1907 near Bangs and was a mechanic. He served the armed forces during World War II. A Methodist, he had lived the past three years in Bastrop, moving there from San Angelo. He was formerly of Bangs. He married Lona Jones in Covington, N.M. December 20, 1932.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Alton L. W allace of Waynesboro, Pa. and Jerald J. Wallace of Bastrop; two daughters, Neta Ann Dickinson of Houston and Lela Jajp Allison of Bastrop; a brother Hubert L. Wallace of Seminole; three sisters, Lorene Wallace of Post, Ruby Burk of Miles and Opal Langford of Santa Anna; 13 grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren.
