He married Maria Sophia Emma Martin on October 27, 1914 in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Long Prairie, Minnesota.
Left to mourn his death was his sons, Harold Carl Schultz and Walter Albert (Helen Petron) Schultz and his daughter, Holdina Augusta (William) Becker.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Erhard Gustav (Margaret Michaels) Schultz; and, daughter, Loretta (Kenneth) Capkey.
His funeral was held on March 13, 1976 with burial following the service.
