John William Schoenberg was born August 22, 1944 in Melrose, Minnesota to Victor and Bertha (Hagemann) Schoenberg. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Stalboerger on September 7, 1968 at Sts. John loved farming; his passion for farming taught his grandchildren, neighbors, and his workers life lessons. John played a vital role in Stony Creek Dairy which is located on the family farm. He was a very positive person who enjoyed life and his jokes would bring a smile to your face.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Schoenberg of Spring Hill; children, Doug (Jenny) Schoenberg of Maple Grove, Dale (Michelle) Schoenberg of Sartell, Kari (Tony) Townsend of Cottage Grove, and Grant (Cassie) Schoenberg of Spring Hill; grandchildren, Greta, Lucy, Eddie, Taylor, Ellie, Gabby, Celia Schoenberg, and one on the way due in December, and Kate and Grace Townsend; sisters and brothers, Pat (Jim) Jungels of Cold Spring, Joanie (Peter) Van Beck of Greenwald, Betty (Neil) Meyer of Sauk Rapids, Barb (Tom) Schwieters of Melrose, Linda (Ralph) Van Beck of Greenwald, Peg (Jeff) Winkelmann of Little Falls, and Steve (Mona) Schoenberg of Melrose.
