He moved from Illinois in his 20's. He worked 18 years for Bauer Brothers Dairy Farm near Gladstone, NE, before working at the Endicott Clay Products, retiring in 2009.
He married Irella Weishahn on July 14, 1974, at Grace Lutheran Church, in Fairbury.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and ushered for many years. He enjoyed bowling, visiting with friends, being with family, country and instrumental music, square dancing and working in the garden. In his younger years he enjoyed pheasant hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Irella (Weishahn) Brinkmann of Fairbury; daughter, Cindy Brinkmann of Fairbury; grandchildren, Michael Brinkmann and wife, Brandy, of Fairbury, Michelle Brinkmann of Fairbury; greatgrandchildren, Marly and Aden Brinkmann of Fairbury; brother, Hilbert Brinkmann and wife, Lucille, of Colorado Springs, CO; brother-in-law, Larry Weishahn and wife, Bev, of Beatrice; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; mother, stepfather, Adolph Rebstock; sisters-in-law, Inez Rudge, Judy Weishahn; brother-in-law, Jimmy Lee Weishahn.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church, Fairbury, NE, with Pastor Charles O. Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, Fairbury, NE, on Friday (9/27/13) from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday (9/28/13) from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Daykin, NE. A memorial has been established to Family's Choice.
