Verna Mae Evans Donavan, 95, passed away September 11, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

Verna was born May 30,1918 to Annie Jane Stricland Evans Harper and Patrick Henry Evans, in Oak Grove , Louisiana.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Cameron Donavan. They shared many happy years in Transylvania, Louisiana. Her sisters and brothers she treasured, Vetie Lou Patton, Juanita Christine Jackson, Elsie Beatrice Armfield, Earsy Lea Donavan, Duddly Eugene Evans, Vance Lamar Evans, Benjamin Leroy Evans, John Patrick Evans and Albert Harper.

She is survived by her sisters, Marie Welch of Oak Grove, Louisiana, Reba Schrock of Odessa, Texas, and brother, Alfred Harper of Odessa. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, who will sadly miss her dry sense of humor and her love for each of them.

J.C. Donavan and Verna M. Donavan started their journey together in Transylvania, Louisiana, now Verna will end her journey back home, where she was the happiest. This glorious event will be held at Lake Providence Memorial Cemetery, a graveside service on September 21, 2013 at 10:00am.
