He was born April 16, 1922 in Pontiac, a son of Bernard and Rosalia Campbell Aarvig. He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepbrother, Spencer Watterson and one nephew, Charles Casson.
He is survived by one sister, Patricia Casson and four nieces and nephews, Bill (Maura) Casson, Jane (John) Allen, John (Andrea) Casson and Paul (Avis) Casson.
He served in the United States Army Air Forces as a bombardier.
