TIPTON-- Ester L. Hammill, 68, of 4685 Sheperd Road, Tipton, died Thursday at Bixby Hospital.
She was born 9/16/1911 in Adrian to Jacob and Alice (Bauer) Dowell. On April 24, 1937, she married Donald E. Hammill in Brooklyn. He survives.
Mrs. Hammill graduated from Adrian High School in 1930. She was a charter member of the Grace Bible Church and the West Adrian Women's Christian Union She worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney's and various other local department stores.
Survivors include her mother, Mrs. alice Dowell of Adrian; a son Raynor of Mount Clements; Mrs. Jerry (Sharon) Mix of Traverse City; a sister, Mrs Elmer (Glennora) Rockwell of Adrian; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and a son in infancy.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Everliss Funeral Home in Adrian with the Rev. David Holly and Rev. Vernon Jones officiating. Burial will be in Tipton Cemetery.
