Age 48, of Gardner, IL, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. Born March 21, 1965 in Pontiac, IL. Eric was currently employed at Caterpillar, Inc. in Joliet, IL. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, RaeAnn (nee Hargis), whom he married May 10, 1986 in Dwight, IL; one daughter, Miranda (David) Warren of Gardner; two sons, Allen (fiancé, Dawn) Cotton of Wilmington and Matthew Cotton of Gardner; two grandchildren, Dillan and RyLyann; father, Joseph Cotton of Braidwood; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Diane Hargis of Gardner; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and one great aunt.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Dorothy Ann (nee Harvey) Cotton. Visitation will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd. & Crematory, Braidwood Chapel, Thursday, September 26, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church, 401 N. Clinton St., Dwight, IL 60420, Friday, September 27, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour preceding services. Pastor Daniel Woodward will officiate. Interment Braceville-Gardner Cemetery in Braceville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his name may be directed to the family.
