Alfred Harold Morseth was born to John and Johanne Morseth in in July 1915 in Deering, North Dakota. When he was a boy of 6 they moved to a farm north of West Concord, Minnesota. When he was a teen they moved to a farm at Hadar. Alfred attended country schools and farmed with his parents for many years.

On June 21, 1941 he married Joyce Ellefson at the Lands Lutheran Church. They lived in Zumbrota and then farmed in the area. Eventually they purchased a farm south of Pine Island in 1957, they farmed there for 33 years before retiring

He loved car drives through the country to look at crops, attending auctions, going to the livestock auctions, coffee with friends, bus rides and bingo. His greatest joy was the farm and animals. He was a lifetime member of Lands Lutheran Church, and was president of the Lutheran Brotherhood.

Alfred is survived by his children, Marlys Scherbel of Coon Rapids, Bonnie (Stan) Broton of Dodge Center, Harold (Pam) Morseth of Coon Rapids, Mary (Myron) Ehrich of West Concord, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce on March 21, 2009; his parents John and Johanne Morseth; brothers, Olaf and Peder Morseth and sisters Ruth Swanson and Olive Torkelson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday September 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lands Lutheran Church with Pastor David Krinke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials preferred to Kenyon Sunset Home or Everson Park at Lands Lutheran Church.
