Peter Hosfelt Taken by Death

Mr. Hosfelt a retired undertaker and furniture dealer, died at his home on Goodrich on March 29th, 1927, at two o'clock from pneumonia and neuralgia of the heart. He has been seriously ill for a week.

Mr.Hosfelt was engaged in the undertaking and furniture business here for a number of years.

He has been retired as an undertaker for 45 years and from the furniture business for 20 years.

For the past 20 years, he has conducted an upholstering business and furniture repair shop at his home.

He was recognized as one of Newcomerstown's best citizens and was deeply interested in the progress of this community.

His parents were the late Peter and Martha Hosfelt.

He was born Feb. 22, 1830, at Marlatts Run, three miles south of Newcomerstown. He was one of nine sons.
Mr. Hosefelt was a member of the local Lutheran church.

His wife Elizabeth died two years ago.

He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Martha Iken of New Philadelphia; Miss Elizabeth Hisfelt of the late home, Mrs. Anna Richards, Mrs. Emma Lanning and Mrs. Clara Ray of Newcomerstown; two sons, David of Newcomerstown and Edward of Princeton New Jersey and a brother Jacob Hosfelt of Bickleton
Washington.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock in the Lutheran church. Rev. Charles Foust, the pastor, officiated and burial was made in the Newcomerstown cemetery.
