Mary Arlette Bellant, 87, of Bremerton, passed away on March 11, 2013. Arlette was born on Dec. 8, 1925 in Atlantic City, N.J. to Emmanuel and Catherine (Canolty) Brigas. She graduated from Atlantic City High School in New Jersey and later from Evergreen College in Olympia, receiving a bachelor of arts degree. On April 3, 1948, Arlette married Raymond E. Bellant, Sr. in Washington D.C.
Arlette was a loving homemaker who enjoyed reading, knitting, travel, and building and furnishing doll houses.
Arlette is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Helene Elaine Ballew. Arlette's memory will live on with her husband, Raymond of Bremerton; son, Raymond Bellant Jr. (Donna) of Slidel, La.; daughters, Elaine Downs (Lewis) of Picayune, Miss. and Joan Hanten (Michael) of Poulsbo; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and niece, Arlette Ballew.
A rosary will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton on Friday, March 15 at 10:30 a.m., with a funeral mass following at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. An online memorial can be see at www.lewischapel.com.
