Kenneth E. Harris, 87, of Belvidere, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, in OSF. St. Anthony Medical Center. He was born on January 19, 1926, in Franklin County, Illinois; the son of Henry and Grace (Issiacs) Harris. Ken married Glorene Summers in Benton, Illinois on October 19, 1947. He was employed as a manager of the Boone County Farm Bureau for 32 years, retiring in 1987. Ken was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army. He held membership with the Belvidere Lions Club and Boone County Farm Bureau. Ken is survived by his wife, Glorene; children, Virginia (Sam) Gueyan; Eric (Elizabeth) Harris; grandchildren, Teresa Wennmacher, Trevor Towns and Nathan Thrun; several great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents; granddaughter, Melinda Harris; 6 brothers; and a sister. Funeral services 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013, in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Av., with the Rev. Dean Parker, Chaplain of OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, officiating. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery. Visitation 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
