C. H. KINGSBURY RITES SATURDAY

Lucas County Pioneer Dies After Long Illness.

Services for Charles Haskins Kingsbury, 82, last of a pioneer family of Lucas county, who died Wednesday in the County hospital, will be held Saturday at 2 P. M. in Matheis funeral home, 1917 Jefferson avenue. Burial will be in Forest cemetery.

Mr. Kingsbury had been ill in the County hospital for six years. He was the son of Henry and Harriet Kingsbury, Maumee. His father served as colonel of an Ohio regiment in the Civil war and later was sheriff of Lucas county.

Born in Maumee in 1852, Mr. Kingsbury spent his childhood in Kingsbury house which his father operated. Later the family came to Toledo, where Kingsbury house was in Summit street.

As a young man, he worked as clerk in the courthouse. In later years he was a worker for the Salvation army. It is said that he would give the last of his possessions to his friends. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church in Maumee.
